It is March of 1865 and the Confederacy is in serious trouble. In a final desperate attempt to salvage the Southern cause, General Robert E. Lee sends Captain Lafe Barstow (Errol Flynn) 2,000 miles away to California to recruit men to fill the thinning ranks of the Confederate army. However, marauding Shoshone Indians may prove to be a more formidable foe than the entire Yankee army. Patrice Wymore co-stars as the beautiful Northern woman whom Barstow rescues from her Indian captors. Also starring Slim Pickens in his motion picture debut.
